NCC Special Entry Scheme 124th Course
Hi friends! How are you all? I hope you are doing great. Today I am back with another latest update. This update is about a very good opportunity in the Indian Army for candidates who have an NCC certificate.
If you are someone who dreams of serving the nation, this is a golden chance for you. The Indian Army has released a notification for NCC Special Entry Scheme 124th Course (October 2026) under Short Service Commission (SSC). Unmarried men and women who have NCC certificates can apply for this entry.
The most important point is – there is no written exam in this entry. Candidates will be selected directly through the SSB Interview process. So, if you qualify in the interview stages, you can become an officer in the Indian Army.
If you have completed your graduation or if you are studying in the final year of your degree, you are eligible to apply.
Now let us see the vacancy details.
For NCC Men, there are 70 posts.
For NCC Women, there are 6 posts.
Out of the total posts, 8 posts are reserved for children of Army personnel who died in war.
Coming to eligibility, candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks in any graduation degree. They must have served at least three academic years in NCC Senior Division or Senior Wing. Also, they must have an NCC ‘C’ Certificate with at least ‘B’ grade. However, for children of Army personnel who died in war, NCC certificate is not required.
Now let us talk about age limit. Candidates must be between 19 to 25 years as on 01 July 2026.
Selection process will be done in different stages. First, applications will be shortlisted. After that, candidates will attend Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the SSB Interview. Those who clear the interview will go through a medical examination. Finally, document verification will be conducted.
Now let us see about training and salary. Selected candidates will undergo 49 weeks of training at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai. During the training period, candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹56,100. After successful completion of training, they will be commissioned as Lieutenants in the Indian Army.
In addition, candidates will also receive a Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic Studies from the University of Madras.

Application process starts on 12th and 13th February 2026.
Last date to apply is 16th March 2026.
